Transylvania, Guest Houses and Hiking Trails in the Fortress Landscape
Overview
62 churches and fortified churches, as well as 59 guest houses between Sebeş/Mühlbach, Sibiu/Hermannstadt, Mediaş/Mediasch, Sighişoara/Schäßburg, and Braşov/Kronstadt welcome visitors to explore the spiritual, cultural, and architectural dimensions of this cultural landscape.

Churches and Fortified Churches
Churches or fortified churches can be found in almost every town or village in Transylvania. In larger towns and cities, the fortified churches are open throughout the year, often offering guided tours. Visitors to small towns and villages will need to request the key to the church. It can usually be obtained from the local German-speaking curator or castle custodian.
In general, there is no admission fee to any of the fortified churches, but donations are always welcome.
